A visa application cover letter is a letter where you list the documents you're sending with your visa application. It's usually addressed to the head of the immigration department in the country you're applying to.

When writing a cover letter, remember to include these key elements:

  • The date of the cover letter

  • An introduction

  • Your nationality

  • The type of visa you're applying for

  • The length and dates of your trip

  • The name of the cities and accommodations you’re staying in

  • The address of those accommodations

  • Your signature

  • Your full name

  • Your phone and passport number

Important: While it's not required, we strongly recommend including your current occupation and the length of your employment to improve your chances of approval.

How to upload your cover letter on the iVisa application form?

This is a guide in case you have already paid for your travel document and want to upload your cover letter on your application. If you haven’t applied for your travel product yet, haven’t paid it yet, or have missing information on your form, you can check these articles:

Step 1

Make sure you are in your account with your application form displayed.

Step 2

On the left side, you will see the sections of your application you need to complete. Fill them out before uploading your cover letter.

Step 3

Once you filled them out, select the documents section.

Step 4

After you select the documents section, a list of required documents you’ll need to upload will appear on the right side of the form.

  • Click on the “Add document” button.

  • Before you upload, read the instructions, to submit a government-compliant cover letter. When you’re ready, click on the “Upload” button.

  • To upload your cover letter, you can either:

  1. Select a file from your computer.

  2. Select a file from your phone, using a QR code.

  • Once you’ve selected your document, click on the “Save and close” button.

That’s it! After uploading your cover letter, you can continue uploading the rest of your documents and submit your application.
