A travel history is a record of your travels to different countries. This record can be found as immigration or visa stamps on your passport showing the dates of your visits.

Travel history requirements

You'll need to upload the scans of your passport pages to your application form.

  • Make sure your passport stamp scan dates match the information you wrote on your application form. That means, if you wrote on your application you visited Canada for two weeks, then your passport stamps should show that length of stay.

  • Your passport stamp scans must be in color with no glares, blurs, or obstructions covering the information.

  • If you're uploading the scan on the iVisa application form, take into consideration we only accept PDF, JPEG, or PNG formats.

How to obtain your travel history?

You can obtain your travel history through your passport, by scanning the pages where you can find stamps.

To take the perfect passport scan, you have two options.

Option 1: Go to a specialized place where they can take the scan for you.

Option 2: Do it yourself. If you’re doing it yourself, we prepared a special tutorial for you to check all the steps you need to take.

Extra tips for a passport scan

✅ Snap from above to avoid shadows.

✅ Take your photo by a window at 12 pm for best lighting.

How to renew a passport if you don't have a travel history?

If you don’t have a travel history on your passport, don’t worry!

The countries you visited in the past have an online record of your entries and exits. You can usually obtain this record on official border service websites from the countries you visited.

How to upload your travel history on the iVisa application form?

This is a guide in case you have already paid for your travel document and want to upload the scans of your passport pages on your application.

If you haven’t applied for your travel product yet, haven’t paid it yet, or have missing information on your form, you can check these articles:

Step 1

Make sure you are in your account with your application form displayed.

Step 2

On the left side, you will see the sections of your application you need to complete. Fill them out before uploading your passport scan.

Step 3

Once you filled them out, select the documents section.

Step 4

A list of required documents you’ll need to upload will appear on the right side of the form.

  • Click on the “Add document” button.

  • Before uploading, read the instructions, to submit a government-compliant passport scan. When you’re ready, click on the “Upload” button.

  • To upload your passport scans, you can either:

    • Select a file from your computer.

    • Select a file from your phone, using a QR code.

  • Once you’ve selected your documents, click on the “Save and close” button.

That’s it! After uploading your passport scans, you can continue uploading the rest of your documents and submit your application.
